Smoked Bratwurst

It was the Bauernbratwurst before we left home. We renamed it for the Kiwi tongue. The smoked Bratwurst is a mainly beef sausage containing some pork for originality. In the German language 'Bauer' means farmer. They had their cattle and pigs in the old days. Slaughtering one of each of those animals every year for the family, left them no other opportunity, but mixing both meats in one sausage. Grandmas secret spices made them what they are. Our grandparents were farmers too. The smoked Bratwurst on your BBQ will make new friends.
Warning: Do not heat them up in Sauerkraut. Why? Your friends will never leave!

The Grillers

You can buy those ones as Tauranga Griller , Albany Griller, or Papamoa Griller. It depends only on the location of our shops. All three are identical. The original was created by our mentor, former instructor and very good friend Erwin Schoelkopf, from Neckartenzlingen, Germany. He named his creation "Denzlinger Griller". We have got the copyright for free and turned those Grillers into one of the most wanted BBQ specialities. Sorry again! The Grillers are not suitable for mail orders.

Münchner Weisswurst

You will not have to fly all the way to Europe to get this one. Just as good as the one served at the Oktoberfest. The Weisswurst is a pure Pork Sausage - containing real lemons and parsley. Served with sweet mustard and a German Bretzel - you will be carried away to sausage heaven. The sausages are heated in water, just short of boiling, for about ten minutes. Weisswurst is brought to the table in a big bowl together with the cooking liquid used for preparation (so it does not cool down too much), then eaten without the skin. Ways of eating Weisswurst include the traditional way, called zuzeln, in which each end of the sausage is cut or bitten open, then the meat is sucked out from the skin. Alternatively, the more popular and more discreet ways of consuming it are by cutting the sausage long ways and then "rolling out" the meat from the skin with a fork, or just ripping the sausage apart and consuming the filling.
There are approx. 10 sausages in a kilo.
